Romeo and Juliet [Study Guide] ![]() This booklet is designed to be an enjoyable, interesting and challenging introduction to Shakespeare's plays. Based on one of the English and Media Centre’s most popular publications, it has been completely re-written to include up-dated and expanded approaches to the play. These enable teachers to offer different sorts of task to suit the particular interests and abilities of their students. The imaginative and carefully thought-out range of written, oral, drama and media activities ensures that all students will be able to find something to support and excite them in their study of the play. Throughout this all new study guide for Romeo and Juliet there is a variety of stimulating and accessible approaches to producing readings of the play. These include: alternative readings; guidance in annotating a text; cutting and pasting print images; using diagrams and montages; suggestions about ways of reading aloud, performance and staging. They are designed to help students work with confidence on the text and its possible readings both by themselves and with each other.
