DISPLAY PROBLEMS
These pages should display correctly on most common Internet browsers, such as Netscape or Internet Explorer. For browsers without frames capability, a non-frame version of the site should load automatically. However, because there are so many different combinations of computer systems and browsers available, we cannot guarantee that the content will look its best for every user. Many factors can affect the display, including:
- The make of your Internet browser. Different browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Netscape, sometimes have different capabilities, or use different methods to prepare information for display. In some cases, web page designers have to choose which option they will support.
- The version of your browser. Major software companies regularly issue updated versions of their browsers. These may contain fixes for known problems, or additional features, so it is a good idea to update your browser regularly. Different versions of a browser are numbered incrementally. Major releases have different base numbers (eg, version 4.0, version 5.0) while small changes, called "point releases," have the same base number (eg, version 4.1, version 4.2).
- Your computer system. Different computer platforms (such as Macintosh or PC) and different operating systems (such as Windows or Linux) may affect the display. Some browsers work better with some systems than others.
If you are having problems accessing the information on the site, try the following general advice:
Check your display resolution. This site has been designed to display correctly at a variety of resolutions, but may work best at 800x600. Setting your desktop display to this resolution may solve your problem.
Update your browser. If you are using an old version, updating your browser should improve your browsing on all websites, so it's worth doing.
Try coming back later. Sometimes, phone lines become congested and it can take a long time to download content and images. In these cases you may have to try again later.
